Mission and Responsibilities

The Board of Fire Commissioners, Fire District 1, Township of Aberdeen, New Jersey was established in 1962 and is committed to providing the community with the best fire protection possible. They are dedicated to providing the residents of Fire District 1 to the highest quality of service and are diligently working to making the best use of the public funds. We are devoted to making the Aberdeen Township a safe place to live, work and visit.

The Aberdeen Township Hose and Chemical NO. 1 established in 1918, firemen are committed to providing the residents and visitors with the best possible protection with ongoing training and modern firefighting equipment. It consists of more than 44 volunteer are expertly trained to address fires, disasters and any other emergency situations.

Our History

Aberdeen Fire District #1 has proudly served the Township of Aberdeen since its establishment in 1962. The district was created to provide organized, professional fire protection to the growing community of Aberdeen Township, New Jersey.

The Aberdeen Township Hose and Chemical Company No. 1, which serves the district, has an even longer history dating back to 1918. For over a century, dedicated volunteer firefighters have answered the call to protect their neighbors, families, and community from fire and other emergencies.

Over the decades, the district has continually modernized its equipment, training programs, and facilities to meet the evolving needs of the community. Today, the district maintains state-of-the-art firefighting apparatus and ensures that all volunteer members receive comprehensive training to handle fires, disasters, hazardous materials incidents, and other emergency situations.

The Board of Fire Commissioners continues its longstanding commitment to fiscal responsibility, transparency, and providing the highest quality fire protection services to the residents and businesses of Aberdeen Township.
